Start cleaning out your garages!

2010 marks our 9th annual garage sale. As always the RNA will pay for advertising in the local papers (The Lance, Winnipeg Free Press, Winnipeg Sun).
To participate just open your garage door, sell your items, and keep all of the money you make. There is no cost to participate.

Garage Sale Hints
· Check your house, attic, basement, garage and shed for hidden 'treasures' that you no longer need.
· Label and price everything
· Remember you can always come down in price but you are likely to have a problem if you try to go up.
· Be prepared to bargain
· Clean items sell easier than grimy ones.
· Clearly mark items not for sale
· Have an extension cord handy if you are selling
electrical appliances
· Keep expensive items close by so that you can keep an eye on them.
· The hours are 8:00am to 2:00pm, but people may be knocking on your door before you are ready for them. Be courteous and ask them to wait until you are ready. Stay in control of your own sale.
· Keep your front and back doors locked if you are selling out of your garage, a distraction could let in unwanted visitors.
· Watch your money! Keep it with you, wear a fanny pack with change in it. Have lots of coins and small bills available for change. Work in pairs, if possible.
· Have grocery bags ready for the items you sell. Also old newspapers for fragile articles.
· Have fun and look as if you're having fun. Customers love to buy from happy sellers.
Volunteer with the RNA!
Are you looking for ways to be more involved in your community? Many opportunites are available with the RNA. We are urgently recruiting now for the following 3 positions:
Chairperson - Conducts the meetings, organizes sub-committees, and sees that tasks are being completed.
Vice-Chairperson - Plays a key role in coordinating community issues with the developer, city, province and/or federal departments. Communicate responses via website. Delegate specific issues to various sub-committee chairs.
Volunteer Co-ordinator - Recruits and manages volunteers to support RNA programs and collaborates with community partners to increase volunteerism.
By volunteering in the RNA you're making a difference and improving the neighbourhood you live in. You can meet great people, and thoroughly feel apart of our community. It can be a very rewarding experience. Please consider becoming a Volunteer today.
